Plant Stepped Into a Substantive Construction Stage.
Gas Turbine Supply Contract was signed
on Oct.18th. It is the first project of CCGT power plant to
be developed by a wholly foreign-owned company in China.
On Octorber.18, Xiamen CCGT
Power Plant (Phase I) Gas Turbine Supply Contract Signing
Ceremony was held at Xiamen International Seaside Hotel. It
demonstrates that the project has stepped into a substantive
construction stage.
Xiamen CCGT Power Plant, located
in Xiangan District, Xiamen City, is to be constructed, owned
and operated by East Asia Power (Xiamen) Co.,Ltd. The planned
installed capacity of the project is 4X350MW in total, and
the floor area is 18.54 hectare. It is the first project of
combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant to be developed
and constructed by a wholly foreign-owned company in China
and also the largest foreign invested project in Xiangan district.
Xiamen CCGT Power Plant (Phase
I) obtained the state approval from The National Development
and Reform Commission(NDRC) on December 20th 2005, and plan
to put in to production in the first quarter of 2009. The
planned installed capacity for phase I is 2X393MW. The project
is one of the major power plants associated with the Fujian
LNG Project.
The power plant fueled by
natural gas, has the advantage of generating clean, efficient
energy with low emissions, which meets the most stringent
environmental requirements and is in line with national energy
policies. It mainly supplies power for Xiamen Island, Tong’an
District and Xiang’an District.
East Asia Power (EAP) is owned
by Pacific Oil & Gas Limited (PO&G). It is an independent
energy resource development company, specializing in developing
competitive clean energy projects. East Asia Power focuses
on investing and operating downstream projects such as LNG
receiving terminals and CCGT power plants in coastal and developed
regions of China. Xiamen CCGT project is the first power plant
invested by East Asia Power, as well as a significant milestone
of the energy programs developed by East Asia Power in China.
